Education Work
June has worked as a Visiting Lecturer in Fine Art at the former Hastings College of Art, teaching on a range of course from HNC to HND with students aged 16–80 and as acting course leader on the Foundation Degree in Contemporary Fine Art Practice. She now concentrates on informal gallery and museum education and enjoys facilitating workshops for all ages, encouraging innovative approaches and opening people's eyes to their potential to appreciate, understand and create art. She produces ideas in response to exhibitions, whether taking over a huge space for The Big Draw to produce a collaborative piece, focusing on intensive individual work in a contemporary response to 18th century portraits, encouraging expressive free-range shadow drawings or producing winter mobiles based on a gallery installation. June has recently worked with Lewes U3A (University of the Third Age) on a pilot course for older people – Hands on Modern Art – exploring themes in modern art through practical work. In 2014, she was one of AccessArt's ACE-funded 40 Artist Educators. (Follow the link for more details.)
