Histos II
This series of work, begun in 2018, comprises a body ofsaquare paintings Histos I, as well has those below, plus sculptures and moving image. It arose from an interest in female agency in Greek mythology, particularly that of Penelope in The Odyssey. 'Histos' means warp or web; anything set upright, as in a loom. The objects and vessels are made from beeswax, leather cord, and scrim. Dimensions variable.
